Would I be eligible for any access to finance programmes?
You may be eligible for access to finance, depending on:
- The size of your business
- The location of your business
- Your industry sector
- The purpose of the grant
You would also have to be eligible under the terms and conditions.
What can finance be used for?
Finance may be available to help you:
- Grow your business
- Relocate
- Carry out research and development projects
- Buy machinery or equipment
- Move into exporting
Who provides access to finance?
A number of organisations offer help with finance, including:
- The government
- The European Union
- Regional development agencies in England, Scottish Enterprise, the Welsh Development Agency and Invest Northern Ireland
- Local authorities or local councils and local development agencies
Would I have to contribute anything?
Normally, you would have to contribute up to half the cost of your proposal.
How long will it take to apply for finance?
Applying for any access to finance programmes can be quite a long process as you will usually need to provide your business plan and complete all the necessary paperwork. Before starting, it is a good idea to check that the finance is still available. Also - call the scheme’s administrator to confirm your potential eligibility.
